miserable, hot days make for beautiful, cool nights

Hope your M Day was fantastic. and you got the chance to thank or spend time thinking about our service men and woman. They are rockstars in my book. However, I think they would be cool with being called a hero instead :)

Enjoy your short work week!

good days and bad days

I have a thought that God gives us the bad days so we can love the good days that much more. That's what makes me feel better, anyways.

Also for the fact that we all need a good cry every one in awhile. It feels pretty good.

name that movie.

anyways. Brittany and I started making our ultimate country music fan t-shirt (or tank top) this weekend. We are making them to wear to some of the country concerts we are going to this summer. (1 down, 6 to go!) Next up---> BRAD PAISLEY. The front of them will read "You know you are a country music fan if..." The backs will be different. Mine says...

- you buy the mega-ticket
- you have teardrops on your guitar
- when it comes to kenny, age is not a factor

classy.

A bunch of us also went to the drive- in this weekend. such a fun time! Except it was a tad cool... warm up Indy!

Anyways, I hope today finds you happy. And if you are like me and having "one of those days", find courage, strength, and hope in the fact that you are not alone.

all my love.

ps....happy birthday to my beautiful niece chloe. It's her first one and unfortunately she lives in FL so I had to miss out. (thanks a lot college). anyways, this proud aunt made up for it by sending the most adorable romper from the gap. :)

summer days are here to stay :)

45 minutes into our pool afternoon and it started storming. and let me tell you, my friends, IT HASN'T STOPPED. It's fine though, I still got burnt.

Please, please pray for the midwest tonight. A lot of dangerous storms are happening and continuing throughout the night. I suppose it wouldn't be summer in Indiana if I didn't have the constant ring of sirens in my ears.

Idol is about to announce the winner! Who's it going to be? For once, I would be completely happy with either one of them. Loving the country showdown this season!

A little of this...

Jenna is driving. and the only thing left to do is close my eyes and hold on for dear life an pray that I don't wake up and I'm 80 surrounded by 34902 cats.

In other news, I just left saying goodbye to a kid with autism that I work with. I'm so incredibly proud of him and how far he has come but selfishly I never wanted to leave. I am AWFUL at forming relationships with people and then turning the page and waving goodbye. But, I mean, who isn't? Good luck buddy!

I'm off to put on a bikini for the first time since September and spend some much needed quality time with my dear friend Audi. What a blessing to have beautiful friends.... with pools:)

more celebrating...

More celebrating, of course. Because what kind of birthday doesn't last all week?! Besides, any day that in involves marble cake with yummy icing and a gooey chocolate center is a good day for me:)

Oh, and glad to see the world didn't end so I could enjoy such goodness. See ya when you're ready, JC.

Birthdays

I often would wonder as a child why so many people dreaded their birthdays. To me, the act of gaining another year of life was so natural. Until this year. This year I am awaiting my 22nd birthday. Doesn't 22 seem so old? I feel like at the age of 22 I should have some more clarity and foundation in my life. A steady boyfriend and hardwood floors. You know, the works. However, life has not handed me any of that. However, it was gracious enough to hand me a kickass job working with kids with autism and acceptance into the special education program at IUPUI. So, to me, it makes way for sense to count my blessings instead of my years.

However, this blog post is not about me. My beautiful sister Jenna turned 16 yesterday! Now, that's something to celebrate.
